New York City - Part 2

14th December (continued) - After lunch, we walked across the Brooklyn bridge. As the sun began to set we were absolutely captivated by yet another breathtaking scene! That evening my sister and I headed out for dinner together in West Village and found ourselves ending up at Benny's Burritos, a busy and loud bar and restaurant serving up extremely yummy cocktails and enormous burritos. We then walked off our dinner back to the apartment, all the while taking in all of the beautifully decorated houses for christmas. The whole city had such a festive buzz, it definitely got us into the christmas spirit!

15th December - Starting with a full on American Breakfast complete with all the trimmings; bacon, pancakes and lashing of maple syrup in the Meat Packing District we were set up for the day. On to the Empire State Building where we were treated to a gorgeous view and some very entertaining pigeons!

Santa Con was very much a part of our day, seeing the first at breakfast and ending the day with a sighting of Gingey and Santa (photographed below) in Greenwich Village. I am in love with this event! For those of you that may be thinking Santa what? SantaCon is an annual mass gathering of people dressed in Santa Claus costumes parading publicly on streets and in bars in cities around the world. It's a great way to spread some cheer and goodwill. Pretty cool huh? For dinner we ate at 'Joy Burgers' which were just delicious, it was a really lovely last night in New York, and to finish off we scoffed on some yummy dessert from 'Big Gay Ice Cream'- Yes, really!

16th December - Our final day! Boo. We started with a hearty breakfast in Union Square, and then made our way back to Grenwich and West Village for a final farewell walk around, where my sister and I grabbed Hot Dogs and strolled around the shops, and stumbled upon a pet store with the most adorable puppies that you just wanted to eat up! (Not literally.) Last but not least we stopped by Magnolia Bakery to buy some cupcakes before begrudgingly beginning our journey to the airport. I had the most amazing time in New York and can say it was the most wonderful surprises and the bestest, most amazing birthday ever!

I'm sure this wont be the last time I'll be stepping foot on the streets of this amazing city.

New York, I love you!
