Last week Ollie and I headed to Kensington Gardens for the inaugural Night Market, part of the Evening Standard's London Food Month. Full of independent food stalls along with a variety of bars, some specialising in cocktails and others just featuring cava and prosecco. Westfield as partners of the event had also put on a outdoor cinema at the event as well as having some of their own independent food and drinks vans.
After indulging in a glass of Prosecco from the Freixenet van we finally decided where we wanted to get food from and chose 'Other Side Fried' which did amazing buttermilk chicken burgers. We then shared churros with melted chocolate dipping sauce from 'Los Churros Amigos', before heading to see that night's open air cinema screening of 'The Grand Budapest Hotel' one of our favourite movies, Wes Anderson at his best if you ask me. This was the first time I'd attended an open air cinema and I really enjoyed it, and I'm definitely up for doing it again if this glorious sunny weather holds out for the summer. You could also grab free popcorn and blankets which was a nice extra touch. Night Market in our opinion was a great success and I hope they run it again next year! It sure made us remember why we love summer, long may it continue. Here's to alfresco dining and enjoying the long summer evenings! Did you manage to make it to Night Market this year? If so I would love to know what you thought and which food stalls you tried out.
I went - I thought the brisket from Smokestak was yummy, as was the Night Rider burger from Patty and Bun. We had the curros too which were lovely, but could have done with extra dipping sauce. I'm hoping they do it again next year, it was great fun!
