Isabella and I landed in Santorini at sunrise which was not the original plan, as we were supposed to land the previous evening, but due to high winds we had to stay the night in Athens and catch a flight the following morning. The sunrise we saw during the car journey to the hotel was a small beautiful snippet of what was to come...
Upon arriving at Aqua Luxury Suites we were shown to our stunning room with a private terrace and plunge pool. We were told the very welcome news that we could have breakfast served privately in our suite whenever we would like. The staff were so helpful and attentive, we had the choice of sitting on our terrace or having breakfast in our luxurious bed. An hour or so after our breakfast arrived, the staff called to check if we were finished and came to clear our dishes. I’m not sure I’ve ever felt this looked after in a hotel before.
Our room was equipped with everything we could have needed. The plunge pool was heated and ready to go as soon as we arrived and as soon as the sun came out I jumped straight in. A morning dip became a little ritual for the rest of our stay.
Later that morning, we headed upstairs to reception to find out what was near the hotel. The staff were super friendly and happy to help with all of our questions. As we were visiting out of season (peak season is June to September) there were quite a few attractions/activities not open yet. We decided to hike to Fira the capital of Santorini, more on this in an upcoming post.
Aqua Luxury Suites is located in ‘Imerovigli’, which is a short distance from the airport, 15-20 minutes by car and 20 minute drive to one of the most picturesque towns ‘Oia’. I loved the hotel’s location and honestly thought the view and surrounding buildings scattered across the cliff edges were so beautiful. I would have happily stayed in the jacuzzi all day soaking up the sun and the view. Even as I write this it is hard to explain how BLUE the sea is! If you’re planning a trip to Santorini I couldn’t recommend booking a stay at Aqua enough!! I will definitely be making a return visit as soon as possible!
